MIA During March & Earth Day

Once again, I've been totally MIA...between work and getting ready for vacation, I haven't had time to write. Of course, I have had time to eat, so here are a few quick updates....

Last week was Chef Week in Chicago...a really awesome follow up to Restaurant Week. It was a tough choice, but I dined at BOKA, which was so delicious! I also had a great meal at Mon Ami Gabi and finally signed up for the Lettuce Entertain You Frequent Diner Club. I can't wait to start eating points at foodlife.

I've been mourning the loss of Minnie's in Lincoln Park for the past few months, but thanks to Urban Daddy, I heard the space was transformed and is now Masu Izakaya. Masu's concept is pretty cool, it's Japanese pub food and you can even get your own personalized masu, aka a square sake cup. Kinda like mug clubs from the good old college days, your masu will be stored on the shelf of the bar and when you get the itch for a little sake, they'll have it waiting for you! Masu sounds like the peftect spot to unwind after a long day at work.

I also can't wait to try M Burger! You really can't beat a burger for $2.49...and their fries and shakes are the perfect companions. While it's really close to work, the line has been way too long for a lunch-break escape... especially on a warm, sunny day like today. I'll have to venture over on a Saturday when I have time to wait.

Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't mention cupcakes in this post! Since Earth Day is just around the corner, I want to give Sugar Bliss a shout out for their Earth Day cupcakes!! The cupcakes will be both chocolate and vanilla with ocean blue and leafy green frosting...but place your orders now, because they're only available between April 16th - April 21st. These cupcakes aren't just about celebratory frosting...a portion of the proceeds will go to Friends of the Park www.fotp.org.  To sweeten the deal, during those days, the first 10 customers to purchase 1 dozen mini cupcakes or 6 regular cupcakes at Sugar Bliss retail store receive a complimentary Sugar Bliss recycled bag! I will def be going early....
